At VOX Mental Health, we believe that strong communities are built through connection, support, and opportunities for people to thrive. Since 2022, we have been proud sponsors of the Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club (BKGC), a longstanding community organization that has been helping young athletes develop confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and physical wellness for more than 60 years.
As a mental health organization serving Barrie and Simcoe County, we understand the important connection between physical activity, social engagement, and emotional well-being. Supporting organizations like the Barrie Kempettes aligns closely with our mission to promote mental wellness and help individuals of all ages build healthy, fulfilling lives.
Established in 1965, the Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality gymnastics programming for athletes at every stage of development. From Parent and Tot classes beginning at 18 months of age to recreational and competitive gymnastics programs for teens, BKGC offers opportunities for children and youth to learn new skills, build confidence, and develop lifelong healthy habits.
Located in the largest gymnastics facility in Simcoe County, BKGC serves more than 1,400 athletes annually through recreational programs, camps, training opportunities, and competitive events. The club also hosts gymnastics competitions that attract athletes, coaches, judges, and families from across Ontario, creating a positive impact throughout the local community.
These programs do more than teach gymnastics—they foster perseverance, self-esteem, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. These same qualities are essential to positive mental health and personal growth.
At VOX Mental Health, we know that mental wellness extends beyond clinical settings. Healthy communities are created when organizations work together to provide opportunities that support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children, youth, and families.
Community sponsorships help not-for-profit organizations like the Barrie Kempettes continue offering accessible programs, maintaining quality facilities, and creating meaningful experiences for participants. By investing in local organizations, businesses and community partners play an important role in ensuring that future generations have access to activities that encourage healthy development.
Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to community pride and our belief that every young person deserves opportunities to grow, succeed, and feel supported.
Research consistently demonstrates the positive impact that physical activity can have on mental health. Participation in organized sports and recreational activities can help improve self-confidence, reduce stress, strengthen social connections, and build resilience.
Gymnastics, in particular, encourages goal setting, focus, determination, and personal achievement. Through their programs, the Barrie Kempettes create an environment where athletes can challenge themselves, celebrate progress, and develop skills that extend well beyond the gym.
As mental health professionals, we recognize the value of these experiences and the important role they play in supporting overall well-being.
Since becoming a sponsor in 2022, VOX Mental Health has been honoured to support the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who make up the Barrie Kempettes community. Their dedication to helping young people succeed reflects the same commitment to growth, wellness, and resilience that guides our work every day.
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with an organization that has made such a lasting impact in Barrie and Simcoe County. Together, we can continue building stronger, healthier communities where young people are empowered to reach their full potential.
