VOX Mental Health Supports Bridget’s Run 2026: Creating Space for Pregnancy and Infant Loss

‍
VOX Mental Health is proud to support Bridget’s Run 2026, an annual community event hosted by Bridget’s Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Foundation that brings people together to honour babies who have died during pregnancy or infancy and to surround grieving individuals and families with community.

For families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, remembrance matters. So does having a community willing to acknowledge a baby’s life, recognize the significance of the loss, and make space for grief that does not follow a prescribed timeline.

Bridget’s Bunnies was founded following the stillbirth of Bridget Bell Morrison in November 2017. Her parents, Theresa and Mat, describe feeling profoundly isolated following her death and later finding connection through peer support with other bereaved parents. That experience became part of the foundation for an organization committed to ensuring others do not have to navigate pregnancy or infant loss alone. READ MORE HERE

‍When Grief Is Acknowledged, Families Do Not Have to Carry It Quietly

Pregnancy and infant loss can affect far more than the immediate period surrounding a loss. Grief can coexist with love, parenting, relationships, returning to work, subsequent pregnancies, anniversaries and milestones that others may not realize carry significance. One of the important things community events can offer is permission for that grief to be visible.

Bridget’s Run creates an opportunity for families to remember their babies openly and to be surrounded by others who understand that remembrance is not something that needs to be rushed or left behind. It also creates space for friends, relatives and community members to show up alongside grieving families, even when they may not know exactly what to say.

Support That Extends Beyond the Day of the Run: Bridgets Bunnies Barrie

The work of Bridget’s Bunnies extends throughout the year. The organization provides Comfort Kits designed to support people during the early days of grief and operates Little Loss Libraries throughout Simcoe Muskoka, providing discreet access to grief-related resources. These supports are offered at no cost to recipients.

The organization also identifies support, education and advocacy as central to its mission. Its work includes education intended to help healthcare providers, organizations, family members and friends better understand how to provide compassionate support following pregnancy and infant loss.

That broader work matters because meaningful support is not only about being present immediately following a loss. It is also about building communities that are better equipped to acknowledge grief, talk about pregnancy and infant loss, and continue showing up after the initial crisis has passed.

Why VOX Mental Health Supports Bridget’s Run

At VOX Mental Health, we understand grief as an individual experience rather than a process with a predetermined timeline or a particular way someone is supposed to feel. Pregnancy and infant loss can intersect with trauma, identity, relationships, parenting, anxiety, future family planning and a person's sense of safety or trust in their body and the world around them. Different members of the same family may also grieve differently, and those differences do not make one person's grief more or less significant.

Supporting Bridget’s Run reflects something we believe strongly: people deserve spaces where their experiences can be spoken about, acknowledged and supported. Bridget’s Bunnies describes its vision simply: to ensure that no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone. Its values emphasize connection, care, integrity and belonging, including the recognition that loss takes many forms and that all grievers deserve a place within the community.

Join us For Bridget's Run2026

VOX Mental Health is honoured to support Bridget’s Run 2026 and the ongoing work of Bridget’s Bunnies. To the parents and families who attend in remembrance of a baby: their life matters, their name matters, and your grief deserves space. And to the friends, relatives, professionals, volunteers and community members who participate alongside them: showing up matters too. Sometimes community support begins with something very simple, being willing to remember with someone rather than asking them to remember alone.
