Click HERE for a video introduction from Kanita Pasanbegovic.

Kanita is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in Mental Health and Health. She brings over five years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, including extensive work with adults navigating complex mental health concerns, chronic health conditions (including pain, injury, and new diagnoses), disability, and neurodivergence.

Kanita has a particular interest and specialization in working with adults with ADHD, especially those managing overwhelm, emotional regulation challenges, burnout, low self-worth, and the long-term impact of feeling misunderstood or unsupported. She also specializes in supporting individuals living with chronic health conditions & disability, recognizing the profound emotional, psychological, and identity-related impacts that ongoing symptoms, medical systems, and accessibility barriers can create.

Her work frequently supports clients experiencing anxiety and depression, particularly when these concerns intersect with health conditions, disability, or neurodivergence. Kanita understands that these challenges are often interconnected and benefit from a compassionate, integrated, and validating therapeutic approach.

Kanita’s practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, strengths-based frameworks, and she is attentive to how broader systems, such as ableism, racism, and other forms of structural inequity, shape mental health, access to care, and daily life. She works collaboratively with clients to contextualize distress rather than pathologize it.

Kanita creates a supportive, neuro-affirming space where clients can move at their own pace while working toward meaningful change. She values autonomy, lived experience, and collaboration, and aims to support clients in developing insight, tools, and self-compassion that align with their values and goals.

Kanita considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they explore their stories, reconnect with their strengths, and work toward greater safety, agency, and quality of life.
