This support group is designed for adult children and/or parents who are navigating estranged, distant, or significantly strained relationships with one another. Whether contact has been reduced, fully cut off, or feels emotionally disconnected despite ongoing communication, this group offers a supportive space to explore the personal impact of estrangement. YOU CAN REGISTER HERE.
DETAILS:
Parental estrangement can be deeply painful and complex for everyone involved. Participants may experience grief, guilt, anger, confusion, shame, relief, or a sense of unresolved loss. For both parents and adult children, estrangement can raise difficult questions about responsibility, boundaries, identity, and what healing or acceptance may look like.
Over six weeks, participants will be supported to:
• Explore the emotional and relational impact of estrangement
• Process grief, loss, and ambiguous endings
• Reflect on family dynamics and attachment patterns
• Examine boundaries, accountability, and self-protection
• Reduce isolation by connecting with others with shared experiences
• Develop coping strategies that support emotional well-being and clarity
The group is trauma-informed and non-blaming. It does not assume reconciliation as a goal, nor does it position one role as “right” or “wrong.” Instead, participants are supported in understanding their experiences, increasing self-awareness, and identifying what feels healthiest moving forward.
Note: Group size is limited to a maximum of eight participants to support safety, reflection, and meaningful discussion.
